The ZZ plant care starts with a lack of care! This plant loves being left alone. Beneath the plants are thick, potato-like roots known as rhizomes that store water, which is why it does great in periods of draught. People often mistake this for a fake plant because of its waxy leaves. This cultivar has lime green new growth that turns a dramatic purple-black color as it ages.
